COOLIDGE, Antigua – Stanford 20/20 Antigua and Barbuda Pro Team cruised into the quarterfinals of the 2008 Stanford 20/20 tournament with easy 24-run win over United States Virgin Islands (USVI) on Saturday.

In the seventh Round of 16 Match, played at the Stanford Cricket Ground, USVI, replying to Antigua and Barbuda Pro Team’s 153 for eight, were restricted to 125 for six.

Wilden Cornwall led the way for Antigua and Barbuda with 30 off 18 deliveries. Juari Edwards and Justin Athanaze with 21 each and Olando Peters 20 also contributed to the total.

Calvin Lewis with 3-16 was the top bowler for USVI.

In reply, Huggins led the way for USVI with a solid 46, which rescued his team from 12-2, but neither that nor Junie Anthony’s unbeaten 31 could prevent Antigua and Barbuda Pro Team from winning the Leeward Islands battle.

Antigua and Barbuda now await the winner of Sunday’s final Round of 16 Match between Guyana

 and Bermuda.
